Welcome to my blog!

Filed Under (Subscribing) by Ros on 28-06-2007

Hello,

The focus for my blog is sharing some of the issues, successes and challenges that teachers and students encounter when they use ICT for learning. It is based on my work in schools  in south-eastern Tasmania but I hope it will be a useful and interactive way of sharing practice, strategies and resources more widely too.

Each entry will highlight an aspect of student work, classroom practice, teacher professional learning and/or school leadership relating to ICT and will include photos, resources, ideas, hints, links, video … whatever I can use to help to paint ‘Pictures Of Practice In Schools’ … thus the name of the blog :-)

Coming soon …
Over the next couple of weeks I hope to have postings with information about digital projectors in schools, computer buddies in classrooms and using PowerPoint to create electronic books with students.

Please ask questions or share your own thoughts, suggestions and experiences using the ‘comment’ facility at the bottom of each posting … the more conversations that happen, the better!

To check back from time to time…
to see ‘what’s doing’  just add the address of this page to your ‘Favorites’ or  ‘My site’ on the eCentre for Teachers (available to Tasmanian government-school teachers only). Using the ‘My Site’ facility allows you to access your favourite web sites from any Internet-connected computer. If you haven’t used this great facility yet, here is a how to… document from the eCentre (you will need to log in) to help you get started.

If you would like to subscribe to this blog…
and haven’t used RSS before, the video at the end of this post called “RSS in plain English” will explain the concept.

The document below explains how to set up an aggregator with Bloglines; a free online application that lets you manage your subscriptions to web content that interests you.

Using Bloglines

To subscribe to this blog, click on the link on the left of this page called ‘Entries RSS’ (under the heading ‘Meta’) and copy the address of the page (URL)  into your aggregator (e.g. Bloglines).

    Hi Ros,
The video on RSS certainly clarified a few points for me enough to have a go at subscribing to feeds from a few of my favourite sites!
